In the latest Dawn of the Planet of the Apes poster we see Caesar wielding a machine gun while riding on the back of a horse.

20th Century Fox has released a new poster for director Matt Reeves’ sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The promotion for this film continues to be impressive, check out the new poster in HD below:

When we last left Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, he was of course just beginning his rise to leading the apes to dominance. That film was a very big success for Fox. It did very well critically as well as financially, and Fox can only hope to duplicate that success with Dawn.

Andy Serkis returns in the lead role of Caesar, and the film will have a cast that is equally impressive as the first, even though it will feature very few of the same characters as the first. Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Toby Kebbell will join the cast this time around.

The plot of this movie will be continuing the reboot/prequel’s direction of leading up to the original Planet of the Apes film. While we know where the plot is headed, it’s always exciting to see how it will get there.

As we first saw in some stills released back in April, the apes will be wielding guns, and that gave us an idea of what to expect. The level of destruction and chaos that was shown at the end of Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a tease, and with the apes having guns in Dawn, the level of chaos that will be in the film will be so much more than we imagined.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will hit theaters July 11, 2014.
