David Tennant and Jennifer Garner are setting off on a tumultuous trip to the great outdoors in this first look at HBO’s new series, Camping.

HBO is launching a brand new series from Girls creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, based on a British sitcom of the same name. Camping stars David Tennant, Jennifer Garner, and Juliette Lewis, and tells the story of Walt (Tennant) and Kathryn (Garner) heading into the great outdoors to celebrate Walt’s 45th birthday.

Walt and Kathryn are anything but happily married, and find that this camping trip brings a whole new set of challenges into the marriage (and the 4-day excursion into the wilderness). The teaser trailer doesn’t give too much away in regards to what we can specifically expect from the show, but it gives off serious vibes of some hilarious (and often cringe-worthy) situations we find ourselves in when we try something way outside of our comfort zones.

Tennant doesn’t really speak a great deal in the trailer, but fans of the British sitcom will know that is because the character is a bit more a meek and shy one. It’s not clear how closely the HBO version will follow the original, but Walt (called Robin in the original series) goes on quite a journey over the course of the show, transforming quite extraordinarily from the mild-mannered man we meet in the first episode. We can’t wait to see what Tennant does with this role and to see him play an individual who is a bit on the shy side.

Happily, we don’t have to wait too long to see what outdoor adventures await us in this new show. Camping premieres on HBO on October 14.
