The currently untitled film that reunites director David O. Russell with Silver Linings Playbook co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper will open to a wide release on Christmas.

Formerly titled American Bullshit, the currently untitled David O. Russell film will open in limited release on December 13 before opening nation-wide on Christmas Day. The film is a drama about a 1970s FBI sting, known as Abscam, that took down several U.S. congressmen. It features a star-studded cast, including Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Louis C.K. Alessandro Nivola is also in talks to join the cast as a prosecutor that brought down several congressmen.

In February, we got word that Jennifer Lawrence had been cast in the role of Christian Bale’s wife.

We have especially high hopes for this movie. David O. Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence proved to do excellent work together when they teamed up for Silver Linings Playbook, and the addition of Bale, Adams, and Renner could make this truly incredible. We’re interested to see Louis C.K.’s role in the film. As one of today’s premiere comedians, his role in a drama will be interesting. His dramatic work on his show Louie shows that he has the chops to pull it off.

We’ll be sure to keep a close eye on the ensemble production as it nears production, which is reportedly scheduled for this spring.

Thanks, Deadline.
