David Morrisey, who stars as season 3’s antagonist, The Governor, speaks out about his own personal feelings towards the final half of season 3. What surprises are eagerly awaiting The Walking Dead fans?

David Morrisey has recently spoken about the upcoming storylines for the final half of season 3. This current season has been unlike any of the The Walking Dead‘s predecessors, and the direction of the show seems to be flowing in a completely different direction to that of the original comic book series.

Morrisey is interested in how these developments will be significantly different from the comic book, and is hopeful that the next eight episodes are full of plot-twisting action.

Morrisey commented, “What I’ve liked about the season so far is that it’s full of surprises. Obviously the stars might be aligned for Rick and The Governor to have some sort of meeting, but maybe the show will shoot that in a very surprising way. I think it’s not going to give you what you want in the way that you want it, and I think that’s what I’ve enjoyed in the second half of the season.”

With all the spoilers, teasers and trailers coming thick and fast for fans, AMC and Robert Kirkman are pushing the “Rick vs. The Governor” season plot as the main dilemma running for the next eight episodes. It’s interesting to note that with all of this media, it’s hard to pinpoint what might happen with the rest of the characters. However, Morrisey is quick to entertain the idea that maybe danger lies ahead for characters other than Rick and The Governor.

Morrisey quips, “As an audience you can see that no one’s safe and there are surprises within that. What’s great about The Walking Dead is that it’s not frightened of killing off its leading actors.”

It seems as though someone is going to be unexpectedly killed off in the remaining eight episodes, but who do you think it would be? Do you think it’s going to be a major, major character, even the likes of Rick? Or maybe someone a little less prominent in the form of Carol? We’ll have to wait and see.

Tune in to the continuation of The Walking Dead over on AMC at 9pm ET/PT, Feb 10.
