If you were at a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman and Lady Gaga stopped by to offer you tickets to her concert, would you leave?

That’s a question Letterman’s audience was faced with during the taping of tonight’s episode.

The setup of the situation is a bit weird, so lets break it down. Lady Gaga was planned as a guest for tonight’s episode of The Late Show with David Letterman along with Martha Stewart. Bill Murray was there as well with a list (we don’t really know if it’s a bucket list, a “scavenger hunt,” or something else entirely), and on that list was meeting Lady Gaga, something he had never done before. When Letterman brought Gaga out early so the two could meet, Gaga asked if they were doing anything tonight and invited the entire audience across the street to see her perform.

Check out the clip from Letterman’s YouTube account to see it for yourself:

Letterman’s audience wasted no time in getting up and leaving, and Letterman responded in his typical zany fashion by just running away.

Gaga was scheduled to perform on the show for the first time tonight, so odds are they are just taping her performance at the Roseland ballroom where Gaga has been performing. Still, it seems to be a bit unclear as to what exactly will happen next, so you’ll have to tune in to find out.

The Late Show with David Letterman airs tonight at 11:35 on CBS.

Would you leave ‘Letterman’ for a Lady Gaga concert?
