We all love David Harbour in Stranger Things, but his Netflix mockumentary, Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein makes us love him more.

While the big talk around Netflix might be the return of Stranger Things, the streamer just dropped a new trailer for a brand new mockumentary starring Police Chief Jim Hopper himself, David Harbour. The movie, called Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein just released a trailer and it’s delightful.

Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein (which, can we just take a moment to appreciate what a perfect title this mockumentary has?) follows Harbour as he explores footage of a televised version of his father’s adaptation of the play Frankenstein. Harbour’s fictionalized version of himself paired with the faux dramatics of uncovering family secrets via interviews and watching found footage is nothing short of brilliant.

For anyone who has seen Harbour in other roles apart from Stranger Things or if you’ve seen him on a panel, you know he’s absolutely hilarious. It’s really exciting to see this new movie where he gets to flex his comedy chops.

We can’t wait to see what dark secrets about his father that he uncovers on this exciting mission. And from one comment in the trailer where Harbour is warned, “There’s a lot of things about your father you may not want to know,” it sounds like there will be much more than a simple, televised play to be found in Harbour’s investigations.

In addition to David Harbour, the cast includes Alex Ozerov, Kate Berlant, Mary Woronov, Alfred Molina, Heather Lawless, and Michael Lerner. The film is written by Arrested Development producer John Levenstein and is directed by Daniel Gray Longino.

Thankfully, you won’t have to wait too long to follow David Harbour into this journey of discovery about his father’s life and work. Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein will premiere only on Netflix on July 16.
