With The Social Network, David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin took on Mark Zuckerberg. Now it appears that Fincher may be joining Sorkin to take on Steve Jobs.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that David Fincher is in early talks to direct the long awaited Steve Jobs movie that was written by Aaron Sorkin. If a deal does come together, the film would reunite the duo that worked on The Social Network, a film that won three Oscars including Best Adapted Screenplay, and many argue that the film should have won more.

Sorkin had been working on the script for some time, but he recently finished writing it. Assuming the script hasn’t changed dramatically since Sorkin spoke about it back in November of 2012, it will be a highly unusual biopic.

“This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time,” Sorkin said. The three scenes he plans on including will all be backstage of a product launch, those of “the Mac, the second one being NeXT (after he had left Apple) and the third one being the iPod.”

Assuming Fincher does officially sign on to direct this script from Sorkin, the role of Steve Jobs will certainly be one of the hottest roles in all of Hollywood. Not only will the film be about one of the biggest icons of all time, but it will also seemingly be a shoo-in for nominations come Oscar season.

We’ve said it before, but Stanley Tucci would be a perfect actor for the role of Jobs. Not only does he look almost exactly like the Apple co-founder, but he is often the best part of every movie he’s in. He, unfortunately, doesn’t do many lead roles, but this would a perfect one.

Who do you think should play Steve Jobs?
