Dave Bautista will be on a mission to save the world as we know it when it comes to his next big screen project.

According to Variety, actor Dave Bautista has signed on to star in a brand new sci-fi fantasy called Universe’s Most Wanted.

Directed by San Andreas and Rampage helmer Brad Peyton, the film is set in a small town who finds itself being an unexpected landing site for a space ship carrying the universe’s most dangerous criminals.

Dave Bautista will play an intergalactic peacekeeper in the action flick. His character will find himself teaming up with the son of the town’s sheriff. Together, they’ll have to round up the escaped aliens in an effort to keep them from taking over the world.

Meanwhile, Peyton will be directing off of a script penned by xXx: Return of Xander Cage vet, F. Scott Frazier and Jimmy Loweree.

As of this moment, Dave Bautista is the only actor attached to star in the film, but we’re sure it’ll only be a matter of time before more people sign on to star opposite the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star— especially given that the plan is for Universe’s Most Wanted to start filming next spring.

In addition to starring in the film, Bautista will also serve as a producer on the project alongside Peyton.

Speaking on joining forces with Bautista for the new sci-fi action flick, Peyton said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to get going on Universe’s Most Wanted. This is the type of fun, mysterious, and irreverent adventure we all need right now.”

Universe’s Most Wanted has yet to land itself a release date.
