Avengers: Infinity War left the MCU changed forever, and Dave Bautista dropped some pretty important spoilers from Avengers 4 in a recent interview.

Warning: massive spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War ahead.

Whether you loved or hated the ending of Infinity War, many of us left the theater after the movie wondering where in the world Marvel would go from that moment. It was an ending that felt pretty hopeless and bleak, and though there were a few glimpses of ways Thanos’ actions could be reversed, it’s unclear if the universe will ever be just as it was before those final moments of the film.

The biggest concern is, of course, the fate of the heroes Thanos disintegrated when he took out half of the universe’s population. One hero who met an unceremonious end at the hand of Thanos at the end of Infinity War was Dave Bautista’s character, Drax. But if you’re worried that we’ve seen the last of one of the bluntest (yet usually well-meaning) Guardians of the Galaxy, fear not.

In an interview with Collider, Bautista put fans minds at ease over Drax’s fate and continued participation in the MCU. Bautista mentioned that many friends, family, and fans have expressed their sadness over Drax’s death, but Bautista essentially told folks to stop worrying.

“I got a lot of texts saying, ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead. They were really like heartbroken and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in four. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’ I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, yeah but somehow I’m going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.”

It’s not a wholly surprising revelation as most of the characters killed by Thanos were the newer members of the MCU. It would be crazy for Marvel to permanently kill off the future of the Marvel empire.

Still, Bautista confirming Drax’s appearance in Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is a nice reassurance that the good guys will ultimately win against Thanos’ cruelty. We’ll have to wait until 2019 to see exactly how our beloved heroes are brought back, but at least Bautista’s comments give us hope for Avengers 4!
