This stand alone, contemporary office romance is classic Christina Lauren. It’s witty, smart, and packs an emotional punch. You won’t want to miss Evie and Carter in Dating You/Hating You.

About ‘Dating You/Hating You’

Despite the odds against them from an embarrassing meet-awkward at a mutual friend’s Halloween party, Carter and Evie immediately hit it off. Even the realization that they’re both high-powered agents at competing firms in Hollywood isn’t enough to squash the fire.

But when their two agencies merge — causing the pair to vie for the same position — all bets are off. What could have been a beautiful, blossoming romance turns into an all-out war of sabotage. Carter and Evie are both thirtysomething professionals — so why can’t they act like it?

Can Carter stop trying to please everyone and see how their mutual boss is really playing the game? Can Evie put aside her competitive nature long enough to figure out what she really wants in life? Can their actor clients just be something close to human? Whether these two Hollywood love/hatebirds get the storybook Hollywood ending, or just a dramedy of epic proportions, you get to enjoy Christina Lauren’s heartfelt, hilarious story of romance in the modern world.

‘Dating You/Hating You’ book review

There is nothing I love more than a good office romance novel, but when you add in the competition angle like there is in Dating You/Hating You? It’s absolute gold. This book charmed the pants off me, much like Carter did for Evil… eh-hem, Evie. *giggles* The two of them are adorable right from the start, and the complications they face are so realistic and nuanced that this book is nothing but an absolute pleasure to read.

Whether you are searching for a beach read, something to pass your daily commute, or something to read while traveling to that fabulous vacation this summer, Dating You/Hating You is exactly what you are looking for. It’s funny, heartfelt, and easy to devour in a single sitting. You’ll look up and the hours will have blown by as you fall into the world of Hollywood agents and large scale mergers.

Evie is a feisty, pulled-together woman who knows the difficulties of navigating the professional arena with an egotistical granola-head as a boss. Seeing her triumph despite the horrors she’s endured is beauteous all on it’s own, but when you add her finding happiness into the equation, this story truly takes off.

Carter is that charming, dreamboat co-worker we all wish would come waltzing into our offices to give us some eye candy to drool over while we slog through our 9-5’s. From his Harry Potter costume to his lucky tie, the man oozes charisma and confidence, and we wouldn’t have him any other way.

This book is everything I hoped it would be. I laughed, I gasped in shock, I laughed a LOT more, and my heart clenched with joy seeing everyone end up in a better place than they started. Books like this are why I read romance. Books like this are necessary to keep us all sane, especially in the midst of the dark, twisted world we are living in.
