Glee and StarKid heartthrob Darren Criss will announce an album and tour next week, Hypable has learned.

A source tell us that Criss will release an album in May or June of this year and embark on a month long tour around that same time.

Earlier today the singer and actor encouraged fans on Twitter to sign up for a mailing list where he’ll be making a “big announcement” sometime next week.

Following this message from Criss, fans noticed that an empty Tour Date page appeared on his site. It was later removed.

Criss seems to be playing up the “Listen Up” phrase. Not only is it in the graphic, but he used it as a hashtag. Could it be the album title?

We’ll pass along his announcement when it’s made official next week.

For now: What do you expect to hear on the album? A lot of acoustic, which Criss is known for? Top 40, full-band material? A new musical entirely (kidding)? And how long will it take for one of his original songs to appear on Glee?

Criss isn’t the only Glee star to embark on a journey to create his own album. Lea Michele has been vocal about working on an original album in recent months.

In related Criss news, we learned over the weekend that Glee has a major plan in store for his character Blaine in the season 4 finale (spoiler warning).
