As previously reported, Darren Criss and Joey Richter, both of Team StarKid (and now both of Glee), were contributors at the 40th Annual Annie Awards last night, presenting the awards for Achievement in Music for Animated Television and Film. They later appeared to introduce the cast of the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, and, well, hilarity ensued. If you missed the livestream, you can watch the video of Darren and Joey at the Annie Awards below.

After the pair were introduced onstage by Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche, better known as Pinky and The Brain, they announced the winners of the Excellence in Music categories, presenting to Dragons: Riders of Berk for television and to Wreck-It Ralph for film. Darren and Joey then did a bit of a skit showing off their extreme fanboyism while introducing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cast. Make sure to check out Darren’s pants!

The cast of Nickelodeon’s current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles includes Sean Astin, who has had an ongoing relationship with Team StarKid since April last year. This blossoming friendship has entertained fans immensely, particularly the ongoing joke that Astin and StarKid’s Dylan Saunders are in fact one and the same person, seeing as they look similar and have never met. Astin tweeted this out from the Annie Awards last night:

Thanks for the adorable photo, Sean!

What did you think of the comedy stylings of Darren Criss and Joey Richter as they worked together as presenters for the Annie Awards? We loved Joey’s slick straight-man against Darren’s derpy inappropriateness – but then again, these two have always been quite the team!
