Daredevil season 4 deserves to be on Disney+, along with all the other Marvel television shows created in conjunction with Netflix.

I am well aware that the chances of this happening are slim-to-none (emphasis on none).

There are, essentially, two major obstacles. The first is that Netflix likely has complete control over past seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Defenders. And, they’re probably not going to let go of them without a fight (and a big check).

Second, Disney+ has come under scrutiny for only allowing family-friendly properties on its streaming service.

The Lizzie McGuire revival has been delayed due to the fact that it wasn’t PG enough for the platform. The Love, Simon spinoff TV series, Love, Victor, is moving to Hulu due to its adult themes.

Daredevil, and its related series, are bloody, gory, and intense. Matt frequently finds himself on the edge of death.

Plus, this show doesn’t mind getting sexy once in a while, either. So, obviously, no one should be getting their hopes up for the Defenders properties making their way to Disney+.

Besides, each of the series was also systematically cancelled in anticipation of Disney+’s launch. All five shows ended prior to truly being completed and without the expectation (or at least public acknowledgment) that there would be more.

So, no, there’s really no chance Daredevil season 4 will ever find its way to the streaming service.

But the world is awful, and I need at least a glimmer of hope to get through this time. Plus, there are plenty of reasons why Disney should consider keeping all its Marvel properties in the same place, including a brand new season of my favorite MCU television show.

First and foremost, the convenience of having every Marvel project available on one platform cannot be understated.

Not only would you be able to buy only one service for all your Marvel viewing needs, but it would also be a lot easier to watch everything in chronological order.

What makes Marvel so brilliant is the way they’ve created an expansive, shared universe that encompasses both film and television.

Even Daredevil makes references to some of the wider events of the MCU, and it would be more logical and make more sense if we could view it in conjunction to the rest of our watch order.

This would take a little extra effort on the part of Disney+, but it would be great to have a playlist feature for franchises like Marvel and Star Wars. One of the biggest complaints about the MCU is how much content there is. If you haven’t been in it all along, the idea of starting from scratch can be daunting.

If Disney+ had a playlist feature, it would be much easier to set up a full MCU viewing, either in chronological or release-date order. Imagine how much easier it would be to convince your friends to get into the Marvel Cinematic Universe if you could just press a button and have every movie and show at your fingertips.

Besides, Disney+ desperately needs more original content. A lot of people are questioning whether Disney+ is worth the subscription, and one of the major complaints is that it lacks variety in terms of original content, unlike Netflix or Hulu.

Imagine if Disney+ brought back Daredevil season 4. Not only would they be the hero we deserve, but they would add more content — more original content — to their roster.

This is a property fans are already familiar with and one that would undoubtedly have more people picking up a subscription. Not to mention keeping the one they had already signed up for.

Plus, imagine the future crossover potential. We know we’re getting several new MCU series, including Loki, WandaVision, and The Falcon and the Winter Solider.

This would complicate Matt’s world even more, and allow Marvel to do what they do best — create a complex, interconnected world that feels incredibly realistic and tangible.

But the most important reason why Disney should consider putting Daredevil season 4 on Disney+ is that it’s an incredible series that we want more of.

Like I said at the top of this article, there are a lot of complicated reasons why this will likely never happen. You have to consider streaming rights and contracts and a whole lot of corporate bullshit. But, if an ideal world exists, then this could be a very real possibility.

It made sense when Iron Fist was cancelled (though it was heading in the right direction with season 2), but as other shows began to get dropped, fans were lamenting the loss of one of Marvel’s strongest and most popular series.

Daredevil has constantly proven its worth over its three seasons, and there’s no doubt fans are ready to see Daredevil season 4 on Disney+.

Not only did we leave off on a cliffhanger regarding Matt, Foggy, and Karen’s story, but this series has always been about exploring what the guys on the ground are up to while the heavy hitters like Captain America and Thor take on more galactic threats.

Plus, if Disney can get Daredevil back on its feet, then we could see a continuation of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Defenders, all of which feel unfinished.
