More casting news is hitting the ‘net about Tim Burton’s live-action Dumbo movie from Disney Studios.

Thursday morning we learned that Eva Green is also in talks to join Dumbo as a French trapeze artist.

Now, Variety reports that DeVito is in negotiations to play the ringmaster of the circus. The role is a surprisingly good fit for the actor, who has played some interesting parts over the course of his long career.

During that long career of his, DeVito has worked with Burton in the past, perhaps most famously as The Penguin in the director’s Batman Returns. He’s currently on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

As Variety also states, the role of the father in the film is still being cast, with both Chris Pine and Will Smith previously testing for the part. Pine has already locked in a fatherly role on A Wrinkle in Time. Will Smith will be starring in Netflix’s Bright.

Ehren Kruger is writing the script for Dumbo, which is being directed by Burton and will feature heavy CGI such as we saw in The Jungle Book.
