The Supernatural cast and fandom proudly regards itself as a family, and now with Jensen Ackles’ wife, Danneel, joining the cast, the show is truly a family affair.
It was announced earlier in the month that Danneel Ackles would be joining the Supernatural cast in the 13th episode of the show’s 13th season as a faith healer named Sister Jo whose skills earn the attention of Lucifer himself. And now we finally have a peek into her first day on the Supernatural set.
Will Lucifer try to get Sister Jo to restore his strength? Will Sister Jo find herself on the wrong end of the Winchester’s rage? The Instagram pic doesn’t give us a lot of info, but we can’t wait to see what Sister Jo will bring to this season’s story!

Of course, this isn’t the first time the show has brought a husband and wife together. Jensen Ackles’ on-screen brother, Jared Padalecki, famously met his wife, Genevieve Padalecki (nee Cortese) on the Supernatural.
Genevieve Padalecki played a demon named Ruby in the show’s 4th season, and she later played herself in the season 7 alternate reality meta-sode, “The French Mistake.” Of course, Ruby met quite the grim ending (at the hands of Padalecki’s Sam Winchester, no less), so let’s hope Sister Jo fares a bit better.
Supernatural will return to The CW with its tenth episode of season 13 on January 18 at 8 pm EST.
