Start spreading the news — Daniel Radcliffe is officially returning to the Big Apple to star in a new Broadway play!

According to The New York Times, actors Daniel Radcliffe, Cherry Jones and Bobby Cannavale are all gearing up to return to Broadway this fall where they’ll star in The Lifespan of a Fact.

The Lifespan of a Fact is a world-premiere play by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell and Gordon Farrell.

The forthcoming play is based off of a best-selling book of the same name released back in 2012. Meanwhile, the best-seller was inspired by writer John D’Agata and a piece he wrote called “What Happens There” which was originally commissioned for Harper’s magazine back in 2003, but was then pulled from the magazine after editors discovered factual errors within the piece.

D’Agata’s work, which used the suicide of Levi Presley in Las Vegas as a springboard to dive deep into Nevada as a gambling capital, a tourist destination, and as a location with traditionally high suicide rates, was later submitted to The Believer.

It was then that D’Agata linked up with fact-checker Jim Fingal. The two began corresponding and discussing the writer’s research and reporting process. Their correspondence spanned over the course of seven years and D’Agata’s piece was eventually published in 2010.

The Lifespan of a Fact looks to explore the idea of what truth means in the world of literary nonfiction, and spans over the course of the years between when D’Agata first wrote the piece, to when it was eventually published.

Radcliffe, who was last seen on broadway in 2014’s The Cripple of Inishmaan, will be playing the fact-checker Fingal. Meanwhile, Jones and Cannavale will play Fingal’s magazine editor and D’Agata, respectively.

The Lifespan of a Fact is set to begin performances on September 20 and officially open on Oct. 18 at Studio 54 on Broadway.
