This December will mark Daniel Day-Lewis’ final appearance in a film when Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread hits theaters.

A career that has spanned more than four decades and three Best Actor Oscar wins will come to a close with its final chapter releasing this winter. Daniel Day-Lewis has appeared in some of the most incredible movies throughout his career, winning Oscars for his roles in My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Lincoln.

Whether you know him from the roles mentioned above or from one of his wildly successful other films, including Gangs of New York, The Last of the Mohicans, or Nine, Daniel Day-Lewis has had an incredible career. He has worked with some of the industry’s finest filmmakers, including Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Martin Scorsese, and has been known for his incredible selectivity when choosing roles.

His final role, in Phantom Thread, will mark the end of a fabulous and distinguished career. Phantom Thread is described as being set in 1950s London, and is the story of a dressmaker who is commissioned by royals and high society to create wearable works of art.

His grand presence on film will definitely be missed.
