After months of speculation, we finally know who Daniel Brühl will be playing in Captain America: Civil War. And it’s not who we thought.

When Daniel Brühl was first cast in Captain America: Civil War, everyone figured he’d probably be a villain… and that appears to be true. But we’re not sure many people were able to guess which villain.

A casting call for supporting characters on Movie Casting Call now appears to have given away the game: introducing the film’s cast, the call reads, “Golden Globe Award nominee Daniel Brühl has joined the cast as Baron Zemo.”

Of course it’s still not clear whether Brühl will be playing Heinrich Zemo or his father Helmut (who could appear in a WWII flashback).

The cast list also confirms that Chadwick Boseman will indeed make his Black Panther debut in the movie (his solo film is set to be released in 2017).

Finally, it looks like the casting call also reveals the official synopsis for Captain America: Civil War:

“Billionaire Tony Stark is pitted against Captain America aka Steve Rogers in an ethical face-off over the U.S. government’s Superhuman Registration Act, which requires all superpowered individuals register their powers and report to S.H.I.E.L.D.”

Unfortunately we have to wait until next year to actually see the film, which hits cinemas May 6, 2016.

Luckily we’ve got Avengers: Age of Ultron to tie us over until then!
