Black Panther and The Walking Dead actor Danai Gurira is in talks to star in both Godzilla Vs. Kong and the next Star Trek film.

Danai Gurira first won our hearts in The Walking Dead as the katana-wielding Michonne and stayed there when she played Okoye, the general of the Dora Milaje, in Black Panther. It seems that her career is only headed upwards, as she is now in talks to star in the new Star Trek film as well as the forthcoming Godzilla Vs. Kong.

Deadline reports that Gurira is still in early talks for Godzilla Vs. Kong, the fourth installment in the Legendary and Warner Bros. cinematic universe, but she is expected to join castmates Millie Bobby Brown and Julian Dennison soon. Adam Wingard is set to direct the film, which is scheduled for release on May 22, 2020.

But Gurira isn’t just setting her sights on the world of kaiju. She’s also looking to the final frontier for her next cinematic project. Deadline also reports that Gurira is looking to join Paramount’s next installment in the Star Trek franchise. The untitled Star Trek project is set to be directed by S.J. Clarkson and will be the first in the franchise to be directed by a woman.

There’s no word on when Gurira’s involvement in either project will be finalized, but with the amount of love fans have for the actor, it seems like a no-brainer to add such a badass to these exciting new films. We love Danai Gurira and are so excited to see her career taking off in such awesome ways. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as new stories break from these two films.
