Looks like Danai Gurira will be sticking around as part of the Black Panther franchise.

According to Deadline, actress Danai Gurira has officially signed on to reprise her role as Okoye in not one, but two Black Panther related titles coming down the pipeline at Marvel and Disney.

First up, the actress is set to reprise her role as the general of the Dora Milaje in the highly anticipated sequel to Black Panther.

Titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the sequel’s title was announced earlier this month as part of a new sizzle reel released by Marvel Studios that previewed their forthcoming slate of titles.

The studio has yet to reveal much more information with regards to what the sequel will focus on— a question on many’s minds given the passing of Chadwick Boseman last year.

In addition, it’s also being reported that Danai Gurira will reprise her role as Okoye in the planned Wakanda-centered series coming down the pipeline at Disney+.

As with Black Panther 2, plot details for the Disney+ Wakanda series are being kept under wraps for the time being.

Both Wakanda Forever and the Disney+ Black Panther spinoff series are set to be helmed by director Ryan Coogler, who helmed the first movie.

Black Panter: Wakanda Forever is slated to hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
