Congratulations are in order for Dan Radcliffe, who yesterday received his very own star on Hollywood’s world renowned Walk of Fame.

Radcliffe receive the honor while on a media blitz for Victor Frankenstein, which opens in theaters next weekend.

Touchingly, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone director Chris Columbus (pictured above left; also pictured is Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick) was invited to speak at the ceremony. It’s a big deal, because Chris was the one who discovered Dan.

His presence at today’s event is a full-circle moment of sorts.

“As you can imagine there was a tremendous amount of pressure to find Harry Potter. We struggled for a while,” said Chris of casting Dan.

Dan was found after the director saw him in the TV mini-series David Copperfield. “I was completely mesmerized by your screen presence,” he said to Dan. “By how much [you] brought to the screen at such a young age. You had all those qualities of Potter, the haunted, sort of torn qualities in a kid. I became obsessed with casting you in the movie.”

“We did a screen test, and I was validated when J.K. Rowling saw the screen test and said ‘Daniel Radcliffe is the face I had in mind when I was creating Harry Potter.'”

Dan and Chris shared an adorable hug to celebrate the occasion:

Oh, how far we’ve come from when they were working together on Philosopher’s Stone in the very early 2000’s:

You’re a Walk of Famer, Harry!
