This spring, Harry Potter star Dan Radcliffe will perform on Broadway for a third time with The Cripple of Inishmaan.

The actor appeared in the play on London’s West End last year for a limited run.

The New York Times, which broke the story, notes that the last minute addition to the Broadway line up will make it possible for Inishmaan to compete in this year’s Tonys. “Such a quick turnaround is relatively rare for a Broadway theater, but the timing accommodates the schedules of Mr. Radcliffe (best known from the “Harry Potter” movies) and Mr. Grandage while allowing for an official opening at the play’s April 20 matinee — just in time for the April 24 eligibility cut-off for Tony award nominations,” the publication writes.

According to producers, The Cripple of Inishmaan is “set on the remote island of Inishmaan off the west coast of Ireland. Word arrives that a Hollywood film is being made on the neighboring island of Inishmore. The one person who wants to be in the film more than anybody is young Cripple Billy (Radcliffe), if only to break away from the bitter tedium of his daily life. Martin McDonagh’s comic masterpiece examines an ordinary coming of age in extraordinary circumstances and confirms his position as one of the most original Irish voices to emerge in the second half of the twentieth century.”

The entire London cast will be a part of the New York run, which begins performances April 20. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, January 17 through Telecharge. A limited number of tickets will be available for the low price of $27.

Radcliffe is no stranger to Broadway. In the past few years he’s had successful, well-received lead roles in the play Equus (opposite the late Richard Griffiths) and the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
