Two of our favorite actors will reunite for a second season of their miniseries A Young Doctor’s Notebook.

The show is based on the short stories of Mikhail Bulgakov, a dark comedy following Hamm as a post-WWI doctor, narrating the story and interacting with his younger self, played by Radcliffe, as it chronicles his attempts to cover up his self doubt and lack of confidence.

Both stars discussed today’s renewal and expressed passion for the project:

“I had absolutely no hesitation in agreeing to do a second series of A Young Doctor’s Notebook,” said Radcliffe who’s currently on London’s West End in The Cripple of Inishmaan. “I had an incredible time working with the multi talented Jon Hamm and of course am a huge fan of Mikhail Bulgakov’s work and so was thrilled when I was told a second series had been commissioned.”

Hamm, who’s best known for his role on AMC’s Mad Men as Don Draper, added “I’m thrilled to come back to our wonderful, weird, wild world of A Young Doctor’s Notebook. Series one was an absolute blast to work on and I’m looking forward to continuing this bizarre adventure.”

A Young Doctor’s Notebook season 2 will “begin with the Young Doctor (Radcliffe) battling a spiraling, crippling morphine addiction and trying to cope with hospital life, the Civil War and the arrival of Natasha, a beautiful young aristocrat,” according to The Telegraph. “All the while, his drug-free older self (Hamm) looks back at himself as a young man, offering some advice amid the regular rebukes.”
