Despite being lied to about the cure, it looks like Elena still wants Damon to take it with her on tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries.
Last week on ‘The Vampire Diaries’
We saw Caroline’s humanity return with the help of Stefan and a letter from her mom, and Damon second guessed his decision to give his mother the ascendant after finding out her friends were witch-vampires.
Luckily, Bonnie was able to steal the ascendant back from Lily early on in the episode. But after discovering that it was missing, Lily went and stole the cure for vampirism from Damon. As Bonnie was about to destroy it she gave Damon a choice: He could take the ascendant back and give it to Lily in order to get the cure, or he could not do anything, meaning that the cure would be destroyed by Lily and he would never have to tell Elena about it.
Damon opted for the second choice, and wanted to let Bonnie destroy the ascendant because he knew he wouldn’t be happy if Elena chose to take the cure. However, Lily was smart and knew that Elena not getting the cure was exactly what he wanted, so instead she made sure Elena found it. When confronted with it, Elena said she wants to take it but she doesn’t want to live without him, so he agreed to take it with her.
This week, we see if they really do take it
With Nina Dobrev’s departure imminent we know that she’s going to be taking the cure, but will Damon follow through with his decision to do so?
The synopsis reads, “As Alaric and Jo reluctantly participate in their bachelor and bachelorette parties, Damon and Elena discuss the ramifications from an impulsive offer that Damon makes. Unsure of what to do, Elena turns to Bonnie and Jo for advice, but is left conflicted when Bonnie raises some unanticipated concerns. When Enzo realizes Lily is on a dangerous downward spiral, he asks Stefan to help intervene before it’s too late. Lastly, fed up with the supernatural threats that plague their town, Matt takes his frustrations out on Tyler, while Alaric considers a life-changing piece of advice.”
