The Hades Hangmen are back in Damnable Grace by Tillie Cole as they work to save Sister Phebe from the Meister and her own demons.

About ‘Damnable Grace’:

Even the broken, through love, can find grace…

Secrets never stay hidden.

The burden of guilt never lifts from the heart.

Born and raised in The Order of David, Sister Phebe knows nothing but cult life. Head of the Sacred Sisters of New Zion, Phebe was groomed from childhood for one purpose: to seduce. Prized as a harlot, as a New Zion whore, Phebe is taken from the doomed cult by Meister, the notorious leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. Taken as his possession. Taken to be the woman who will obey his every sexual demand. Under his heavy hand, Phebe finds herself in a place much worse than she could ever have imagined… with absolutely no one to help. And no glimpse of hope.

Xavier ‘AK’ Deyes is content with his life as Sergeant-At-Arms of the Hades Hangmen. Leader of the infamous ‘Psycho Trio’ and ex-special ops sniper, AK knows how to fight. Experienced in warfare and schooled in military operations, AK is vital to the Hangmen. When his Vice President needs help retrieving his missing sister-in-law, Phebe, from a Klan-funded trafficking ring, AK volunteers to go in. AK remembers the redhead from New Zion. Remembers everything about her from the single time they met—her red hair, blue eyes and freckled face. But when he finds her, heavily drugged and under Meister’s control, her sorry condition causes him to remember more than the beautiful woman he once tied to a tree. Saving Phebe forces hidden demons from his past to return. A past he can never move on from, no matter how hard he tries.

As AK fights to help Phebe, and in turn she strives to help him, they realize their secret sins will never leave them alone. Kindred broken souls, they realize the only way they can be rid of their ghosts is to face them together and try to find peace.

Despair soon turns to hope, and damaged hearts soon start to heal. But when their deep, painful scars resurface, becoming too much to bear, the time comes when they must make a heavy choice: stay forever damned; or together, find grace.

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, violence, disturbingly sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 and over.

‘Damnable Grace’ review:

Tillie Cole has brought another intense dark romance with Damnable Grace. The series, although haunting, is completely unforgettable. Even though I have to mentally prepare myself before reading the Hades Hangmen series I know that each novel will bring a story that has me on the edge of my seat while falling in love with the characters.

One of the things that’s so interesting about the series is how completely opposite the couples are from one another. Typically, it’s a sister that was raised in a cult, and even though they have to live through abuse, they still come out with completely innocent personalities. Pair them up with tough bikers and it seems like an odd mix until you find out how they complete one another.

AK and Phebe are a bit different from the other couples, mainly because of Phebe’s role in the cult. Since she was trained as a seductress she doesn’t stand out among the bikers as much as the other girls. But that doesn’t make her transition any easier. In fact, she has to deal with some problems that the other girls didn’t have to and AK is the only one who can help her. It’s Phebe’s own darkness that allows her to connect with AK in a way that others can’t. Honestly, this couple is one of my favorites from the entire series, only Styx and Mae have them beat in my mind.

Damnable Grace also introduces the readers to new enemies, and new locations. The introduction of these makes the novel even darker than the ones that came before it in the series. However, fans do get to catch up with some favorites from the series and see how they are making strides in their lives to move on from their pasts.

I can’t give away many details without risking spoilers, but I will say that the end of the book gives a glimpse into what will come next for the Hades Hangmen and I’m excited to see what will happen next!
