Star Wars lead Daisy Ridley has officially completed filming on Episode VIII. See her sweet farewell message here!

While production on Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII has understandably been very hush-hush, a few fun set videos and stories have slipped by here and there. For example, we’re all very familiar with Daisy Ridley’s workout routine (and subsequently feel lazy and unaccomplished), and we know that Poe Dameron’s story isn’t going the way you expect.

Now, filming has wrapped for lead actress Daisy Ridley (Rey), and she commemorated the occasion with an amazing Instagram shot of herself holding a lightsaber:

And that is a wrap on Star Wars Episode VIII. My heart is brimming. #reyout

Meanwhile, Mark Hamill shared a still from the wrap party, and further fuelled those rumors about Luke dying in Episode VIII:

“Saying goodbye is hard,” indeed.

But for fans, it’s only the beginning! Now the eighth Star Wars film is in post-production, and although we’re still a year and a half away, it’s not completely unfathomable that we might get a first look before Christmas. Especially considering that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is hitting on December 16!

Star Wars: Episode VIII premieres December 15, 2017.
