Daisy Ridley may have found her next project with the upcoming psychological crime thriller The Ice Beneath Her, based on the book of the same name.

According to Deadline, who first reported the news, Daisy Ridley is currently in negotiations to star in the feature, which has been at the center of an intense Hollywood bidding war in recent months.

Based on Swedish author Camilla Grebe’s bestselling 2015 novel of the same name, the upcoming Daisy Ridley feature is described as being similar in tone to Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train.

The story revolves around a detective and psychological profiler who work to solve a case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time. No word yet on which character Daisy Ridley would be portraying in The Ice Beneath Her.

STX, which is known for films like Bad Moms, I Feel Pretty, Hustlers and The Gentlemen, won the rights to finance the movie, with American Sniper’s Andrew Lazar set to produce with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella — the filmmaker trio who directed the breakout horror hit Ready Or Not — who are attached to direct as well.

Caitlin Parrish, who is a writer of Berlanti Productions’ Supergirl and The Red Line, has written the adaptation of the book.

Though Daisy Ridley is in negotiations to star in the feature, it is unknown who might be joining her, though Deadline reports that additional “casting discussions are currently underway for multiple juicy roles.”

Daisy Ridley was last seen in the final chapter of the new Star Wars trilogy, Rise of Skywalker, and is currently in (hopefully) the final post-production for Lionsgate’s long-gestating big screen adaptation of the Patrick Ness book, Chaos Walking, in which she stars alongside Tom Holland.
