A mid-season date for the CW’s new drama iZombie has finally been announced as a slew of stills from the pilot were also released.

From the creator of Veronica Mars (Rob Thomas) comes the comic book adaptation of iZombie, which will air its pilot on Tuesday, March 17 at 9 p.m. eastern.

With iZombie taking the Tuesday night slot Supernatural originally had, The CW execs are likely hoping iZombie benefits from lingering The Flash viewers.

iZombie follows Olivia “Liv” Moore (Rose McIver, Masters of Sex, Once Upon a Time) as a peppy medical resident-turned zombie after she attends a party that ends up being a zombie feeding frenzy. Liv takes a job up at a coroner’s office to satiate her hunger of brains via John and Jane Does, but soon realizes that she retains some memories of the owners of the brains.

With the help of coroner Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (newcomer Rahul Kohli) and homicide detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin, Breakout Kings), Liv poses as a psychic to find out not only the identities of the Does, but also the location of the original zombie responsible for Liv’s condition, Blaine Debeers (David Anders, Once Upon a Time, The Vampire Diaries).

Recently released stills from the pilot episode of iZombie reveal some of the dramatic moments of the opening episode, including Liv’s awakening as an undead, and of course, our title zombie snacking on some brains like they were lomain.
