Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television are joining forces for a brand new anthology series coming down the pipeline at The CW.

According to Variety, The CW is in the process of developing a brand new drama anthology series titled The Woman’s Hour, which boasts former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, as well as Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television as producers.

Both Amblin Television as well as Clinton have been involved with the project since 2018 when the former Secretary of State brought the book to Spielberg, who, in turn, optioned the rights through his production banner.

Others who are also involved with the project behind the scenes include
Angelina Burnett. The Americans and Hannibal vet will work as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on The Woman’s Hour.

Meanwhile, author Elaine Weiss will serve as executive producer on the series alongside Hillary Clinton, and Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television.

The forthcoming series is based off of the book The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote by author Elaine Weiss, which profiles a handful of women who fought for women’s rights.

Currently, the plan for The CW’s The Woman’s Hour is for the first season of the forthcoming anthology drama to focus on the suffragette’s plight to ratify the 19th Amendment.

For those who nee a bit of a history refresher, the 19th Amendment ultimately gave women the right to vote. As it turns out, news of the anthology series couldn’t have come at a better time— especially given that this year marked the centennial anniversary of the ratification of the amendment in question.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect The Woman’s Hour to debut via The CW.
