On a conference call with the media following the announcement, The CW said that Beauty and the Beast was saved by support from worldwide and social media support which The Tomorrow People didn’t have (despite William Shatner’s tweeting).

In addition, the network confirmed that they may make another attempt at a Supernatural spinoff in the next year. The news comes after they decided not to move forward with their Bloodlines pilot last week.
