Harry Potter and the Cursed Child scribe Jack Thorne is penning a TV musical project, which Damien Chazelle has signed on to direct.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning director is now attached to The Eddy, which still doesn’t have a network to air on (though Chazelle’s involvement has probably upped interest in the project significantly).

The Eddy is a musical drama set in contemporary Paris, revolving around “a club, its owner, the house band and the volatile city that surrounds them.” By the description alone, this definitely sounds like it has a La La Land-vibe to it, and Chazelle will probably be a really good fit for the project.

Writer Jack Thorne is best known to fandom for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the highly successful Harry Potter stageplay that’s playing in London and will soon become available on Broadway, too.

Grammy-winner Glen Ballard and Six Feet Under‘s Alan Poul will serve as executive producers on the series.

Damien Chazelle’s next project is the Neil Armstrong biopic First Man, which reunites him with La La Land lead Ryan Gosling.
