With her Cuckoo’s Calling sequel, The Silkworm, set for release in June, Robert Galbraith/J.K. Rowling has announced a promotional appearance.

The author will appear at the Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival at an event named “In Conversation with Val McDermid” for what’s being billed as “J.K Rowling’s first and only appearance this year as Robert Galbraith.”

Rowling will meet readers after the event and will sign one copy of The Silkworm per person with no personalizations. It will be the first time the author hosts a signing for a book in the Cormoran Strike series. We wonder if she will sign the books as Robert or her true self?

Other authors appearing at the festival include Ann Cleeves, Sophie Hannah, Lynda LaPlante, Laura Lippman, Peter May, Denise Mina, Steve Mosby and S.J.Watson. Tickets for particular events like Rowling’s can be purchased beginning March 17. For more, visit the festival’s official website.

The author held no public appearances around the launch of The Cuckoo’s Calling since she was secretly operating under a pseudonym when the book was published early last year, but she did sign a few copies of the book as Robert Galbraith. She made numerous appearances when she published The Casual Vacancy in 2012.

Here’s hoping that Rowling and/or Galbraith agree to a couple of print or television interviews so the world can hear Rowling speak about her new book, and maybe tease what’s next for Comoran Strike, Harry Potter, and her other projects.

The Silkworm is the second book in Rowling’s mystery series following Strike. This installment will feature a case involving a novelist. The full synopsis and cover can be seen in our previous report.
