Get pumped, Allison Argent fans, your fave is returning to Teen Wolf in an unexpected way!

That’s right everyone, in just a few weeks Crystal Reed will be returning to the Teen Wolf set.

Before you get too excited, we should warn you that it isn’t Allison Argent who’s returning to the show. It’s more along the lines of an inverted reincarnation of the character.

In a video released by MTV today, Reed reveals that she was called back to portray one of Allison Argent’s ancestors:

While speaking with BuzzFeed, Reed divulged a few other critical pieces of information. The episode that she’ll be guest starring on will air on February 23, and it’s titled “The Maid of Gévaudan.”

Yes, the very same Gévaudan that is currently haunting our pack in Beacon Hills today. See how it’s all tying together now?

In one of Teen Wolf’s notorious flashback episodes, Reed will be portraying, “the progenitor of the Argent family line, Marie-Jeanne Valet.”

Jeff Davis also shared with the website that Valet “was a peasant girl who had fashioned a bayonet onto a spear and was supposedly one of the first to survive an attack by the beast.” Like Allison, “Valet is another female warrior, and I think one of the great things Crystal does is she gives our viewers, especially our young female viewers, someone to look up to.”

As long term fans know, the Argent family has been hunting werewolves since the 1700s. In fact, it’s Allison Argent herself that uncovered this info all the way back in season 1, episode 6, “Heart Monitor.”

While preparing for a genealogy assignment, Allison came across an interesting piece of “folklore” tied to her family. The legend stated that from the years 1764 – 1767 in a province of France a giant wolf like creature attacked and killed over 100 people. The massacres became so notorious that “King Louis XV sent some of his best hunters to try and kill it” and “even the church eventually declared the monster a messenger of satan.”

Here’s where things might tie directly into the February episode: “It is believed that La Bête was finally trapped and killed by a renowned hunter who claimed his wife and four children were the first to fall prey to the creature. His name was Argent.”

It’ll be interesting to see how this previously established canon will be tied into this new story, but either way, aren’t we all just happy we get to see Crystal Reed on our screens again?

How excited are you to see Crystal Reed return to ‘Teen Wolf’?
