In the first trailer for director Guillermo del Toro’s latest horror film, Crimson Peak, Tom Hiddleston falls in love with Mia Wasikowska, and takes her back to his mysterious mansion.

Crimson Peak was set to have Benedict Cumberbatch co-star in the film, but when he left, Hiddleston took his place. Now we have Tom Hiddleston with two excellent actresses in Mia Wasikowska, the woman he loves, and Jessica Chastain, who plays his sister. Watch Crimson Peak’s first trailer below:

Crimson Peak is set in an Victorian England, where a woman falls in love with a mysterious man, played by Hiddleston. After she moves in with him and his sister, played by Chastain, she finds out that their home is haunted. Charlie Hunnam also has a sizeable role in the film as Dr. Alan McMichael.

Crimson Peak is a “haunted house thriller,” and it’s Director Guillermo del Toro’s next project. It’ll be interesting to see Chastain and Hiddleston playing siblings in the film, as both have turned into two of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Guillermo del Toro calls the film a “classical gothic romance ghost story,” which is “very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story.” He rarely lets his fans down, so we look forward to seeing what he does with this horror project.

Crimson Peak will be released on October 16, 2015, and with its haunted themes, and stellar actors, we imagine it could be a runaway hit during the Halloween season.
