The 100 season 2 premieres in less than a week! A super spooky new promo reminds us that this season is going to be darker than Murphy’s soul.

…Although we have heard through the grapevine that Murphy (Richard Harmon) is actually going to provide some comic relief this season! That’s how dark it’s getting, folks.

This eerie trailer looks like it’s promoting American Horror Story or Hannibal, but no, it’s season 2 of The 100 all right:

The trailer, titled “Origami,” features someone (is it Kane? The voice sounds like Henry Ian Cusick, but it’s hard to tell) whispering the eulogy used for funerals on the Ark: “In peace may you leave the shore. In love may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels, until our final journey to the ground.”

We see glimpses of hands working with spears and wires, Abby (Paige Turco) discovering the 100’s bombed-out camp, someone (Finn?) folding an origami animal, and Murphy being terrifying.

The tagline for this trailer is, “There is no peace in the presence of evil.” Is Murphy the evil presence? And if so, which character is unfortunate enough to find themselves in his company? Or is it Murphy himself who is not able to find peace (he seems to be immortal, after all!)?

The first three minutes of the episode have already been released; you can see Clarke (Eliza Taylor) breaking out of her cell in the Mount Weather facility and meeting one of the workers.

You can also read the report from NYCC, where the season 2 premiere was screened. Only mild spoilers – no news about the fates of Finn (Thomas McDonell) and Raven (Lindsey Morgan), although it seems pretty safe to assume that Bellamy (Bob Morley) is going to make it.

The 100 season 2, episode 1, “The 48,” airs next Wednesday at 9/8c on The CW!
