A World Without You is a new novel from Beth Revis, and we have an exclusive look at the cover and description of the book!

A World Without You is a definite depart from Revis’ previous novels and takes on a more personal note. The cover features a silhouette of a boy with various crisscrossing yarn of different colors. The cover is intriguing, but the description of the book makes it even more appealing.

A note from Beth Revis

A World Without You was not the book I was supposed to write.

I write stories about space or magic! I blow things up and throw in some kissing and then kill off more characters!

And A World Without You started that way. There’s a school for kids who have superpowers. There’s time travel and telekinesis. There’s even death and fire.

But as I was writing the story, things got…twisted. Even though Bo, my main character, can control time, I realized that his idea of “control” was all wrong. And his idea of what was real was wrong, too.

I realized that I didn’t want to write a book about kids with superpowers. I wanted to write a book about kids who didn’t really have any power at all, and what it means to realize that. About what it means to accept that…or to not.

The book became something more to me. The more I covered the pages in ink, the more I ripped away the feelings I’d been hiding from myself for a long time, feelings about my own past, my own fears, and my own family. This book became personal. My life is hidden in the white spaces between the lines.

So I hope you love it. A World Without You was never the book I intended to write, but it became the book that is most important to me.

About ‘A World Without You’

When 17-year-old Bo is sent to a school for troubled youth, he believes he’s actually at The Academy, a home for kids who, like Bo, have superpowers. There, he falls in love with Sofia, a quiet girl with a tragic past and the power of invisibility.

But after she commits suicide, Bo is convinced that she’s not really dead, but stuck somewhere in the past, and it’s his job to save her. In her first contemporary novel, New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis guides us through the mind of a young man experiencing mental illness and grief.
