Cory Monteith’s girlfriend Lea Michele sent out her first tweet about the passing of her loved one on Twitter this morning.

The tweet was her very first one since Monteith’s July 13 death. “Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart,” she said with a photo of the two attached. The tweet is below:

Reps for Michele had passed along messages from the actress over the past couple of weeks, but this one was the first directly from the singer.

Monteith died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol, a coroner’s report revealed.

Glee plans to honor Monteith in season 5, episode 3, which should film in the next few weeks. The first two episodes of season 5 will be Beatles-centric as originally planned.

Following episode 3, Glee plans to take a temporary break to decide the direction of the show now that Finn’s character will no longer be involved. For the four seasons Monteith was a part of, the character of Finn always had an important role. When we last saw him at the end of season 4, he realized he wants to become a teacher.

Earlier this morning we told you that producers for this year’s Primetime Emmy awards are planning a Monteith tribute.
