Two Glee actors are speaking out for their first time about Cory Monteith’s death.

Actor Kevin McHale, who plays Artie and obviously spent a lot of time with Monteith on set, posted a photo of the two on Instagram (pictured above) with the following caption: “So thankful that I and so many of you got to experience Cory’s overwhelming kindness, humor and talent. There will not be a day that goes by that I won’t miss him. Thank you all for your incredible support and patience,” he told viewers.

Glee co-star Mike O’Malley who plays Kurt’s father said in an inteview while promoting his new NBC comedy that he hopes to be a part of the Cory Monteith/Finn tribute episode, which will be season 5, episode 3. He added, “He was the fictional quarterback on the show and the very real quarterback on that set. I just loved working with him. I miss him very much.”

O’Malley went on to say that the toughest Glee scene he ever shot was one with Monteith. “I had to throw him out of the house because of a slur that [Finn] used. It was remarkable to me when we were shooting that scene the depth of emotion [Monteith] was able to portray — the sorrow, the shame.”

Glee creator Ryan Murphy said in recent interviews that they are still working out what the tribute episode will involve. We do know that it will be shot after two Beatles-centric episodes and should run in early October.
