In the most recent edition of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro, new Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 details have been uncovered. These scans have confirmed new gameplay features, such as Pokewood and World Tournament.

The first details reveal the return of characters from the first Black and White games. Firstly, Alder seemingly appears early in the game and has an unspecified mission for the player.

As for Cheren, your old rival, he is now a Normal-type Gym Leader and Bianca is an assistant for Professor Juniper. She is sent by Prof. Juniper to give you your starting Pokemon. As for N, the scans ominously states “nobody seems to know where N has gone.”

This game also has a new Professor, who is called Burnett and is from the upcoming Japanese title “AR Searcher.” A global release date for this title has not been confirmed.

New forms have been confirmed for Tornadus, Thunderus and Landorus. Their current form is called “Incarnation forme” while their new form is called “Sacred Beast forme,” as they seem to have become animals.

Pokewood, Pokemon’s version of Hollywood, has also been confirmed. Players select a scenario and participate in the movie, with numerous battles in between. Brycen, the Ice-type Gym Leader from the last game, makes an appearance here as well as the new Poison-type Gym Leader’s (Homika’s) father.

In perhaps the most exciting news, Pokemon World Tournament is a new feature in this game. It will allow you to battle previous Gym Leaders and Champions from past games. So far, the list includes Brock, Misty, Lance, Volkner, Blue, Steven, Janine, Blaine, Giovanni and Cynthia. This list seems to date back to the original Red and Blue all the way to Platinum.

Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are set for a June release date in Japan. They’re expected to release internationally in the second half of this year.
