A reading day. Imagine it. Sigh.)

We all have our one-click authors, people whose books we just can’t wait to dig into. The ladies on this list are just the tip of the iceberg. Check out these 13 incredible authors with contemporary romance books coming in 2016. They all have pretty sizable back catalogs too, in case you fall in love with more than just their heroes and heroines.

With no further ado, here are 13 contemporary romances that we are anxious to have in our hands this year.

Elle Kennedy

The Score Release Date: January 11

If you’ve never heard of Elle Kennedy, you are really missing out. She has a plethora of different series available, so there’s something there for just about every taste. The title we are most excited to get from her in 2016 is The Score. It’s book three in the Off-Campus series, and centers around the hockey-playing ladies man, Dean Di Laurentis. The lady that will be confounding him for 350 pages is none other than Allie Hayes, Hannah’s roommate from The Deal. Kick off your 2016 reading with a surefire winner.

Other 2016 releases from Elle Kennedy: Us on March 8, Midnight Revenge on February 2, and Addicted on June 28

Sarina Bowen

Rookie Move Release Date: September 6

Sarina Bowen is responsible for writing a book that managed to get ‘buy it!’ recommendations from all four hosts on Bookhype. High praise, that. And for those that might not have gotten enough of the Harkness hockey players, Sarina has begun a spin off series. The Brooklyn Bruisers series will be all about those Harkness boys that moved on to play in the NHL. The first book, Rookie Move is all about Leo Trevi (big brother to D.J. from The Fifteenth Minute) and his former flame Georgia Worthington. Leo gets called up from the minors to the big league, and he discovers that the team’s PR lady just happens to be his high school sweetheart. Chaos ensues.

Other 2016 releases from Sarina Bowen: Us on March 8, and the first book in True North series coming sometime this spring

Lauren Layne

I Wish You Were Mine Release Date: February 2

The Stiletto series is arguably Lauren Layne’s best known property, and we were all devastated when we read the last words of The Trouble With Love, as we thought our time in that world was done. Little did we know, Lauren was inspired by a few of those Oxford men, and Ta Da! The Oxford series was born. The second book in that series, I Wish You Were Mine is all about Jackson Burke and the girl he never thought he could have. His ex-wife returns to his life, which is all sorts of bad news, but brings her younger sister, Mollie Carrington along. As Mollie tries to help her sister win Jackson back, she tries desperately to deny those pesky feelings she’s always had for him. Cue moral dilemma.

Other 2016 releases from Lauren Layne: Cuff Me on March 29, Good Girl on May 17, From This Day Forward on June 6, To Have and To Hold on July 26, For Better or Worse on August 30, To Love and To Cherish on October 25, Someone Like You on December 13

Sawyer Bennett

Hawke Release Date: March 15

Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series is chock full of great heroes. (Zack remains one of this writer’s most emotional reading experiences ever.) The newest addition to that series, Hawke, is all about what happens when a past love that cut you loose returns to your world a very different person. Hawke Therrien has filled the gap that Vale Campbell used to fill before she left him seven years earlier. She needed to get her life in order, and she didn’t think she could do it while Hawke was still tempting her to sin. We can’t wait to see what happens now that they’re thrust back into each others’ lives.

Other 2016 releases from Sawyer Bennett: Wicked Lust on January 6 (available now!), Wicked Need on April 19, and Sugar Daddy on May 24

Mia Sheridan

Midnight Lily Release Date: March 1

When Holden Scott gets an opportunity to hide away from the world and let the dust settle from his professional football career, he jumps at the chance. While spending his time in the remote wilderness of Colorado, he sees a vision of a woman. She dresses in white lace and appears at midnight, leaving no trace of her behind. Holden tries to decide if he’s going crazy, or if this woman is indeed real, and whether reaching out would be the smartest or craziest move of his life. Mia Sheridan is basically the queen of the standalone novel, as many of her books show up on all time favorite lists. Make sure to check out Midnight Lily when it releases in March.

Kylie Scott

Dirty Release Date: April 19

Another treat of a read that we are seriously anxious to get our hands on is Dirty by Kylie Scott. The Stage Dive series left a gaping hole in our reading list when it finished last March with the release of Deep, but we are overjoyed to return to the world with Dirty, book one in the Dive Bar series. Dirty is all about Vaughan Hewson, a musician turned bartender, and Lydia Green, the woman who found out on her wedding day that her husband-to-be was cheating on her… with his best man. With a premise like that, who wouldn’t want to dive right in? And if a Stage Diver or two stopped by, we definitely wouldn’t throw him out.

Cora Carmack

All Closed Off Release Date: Sometime this spring? (crosses fingers!)

The Rusk University series has brought us three charming and beautiful stories about a couple of Rusk football players and the women who have changed their lives for the better. The much-anticipated fourth book, All Closed Off will be a tougher story. All Broke Down (Rusk University Book 2) ended with Silas and Dylan finding Stella, whom Silas considered a kindred spirit, lying unconscious and unclothed in an upstairs bedroom, all evidence pointing to her having been drugged and raped. All Closed Off is Stella’s story. We hope it will be a story of healing, but she has a long way to go until then.

Other 2016 releases from Cora Carmack: Inflict in January 2016

Jen Frederick

Jockblocked Release Date: February 2016

Jockblocked is the second book in the Gridiron series, and focuses on linebacker Matthew “Matty” Iverson as he tries to convince his quarterback, Ace Anderson, to give up the captaincy for Matty’s final year of eligibility. He thinks he’s got it in the bag when he gets Ace’s childhood best friend, Lucy Washington, on his side (and in his bed), but when he starts to fall for her, all bets are off. Can Matty have it all?

Other 2016 releases from Jen Frederick: Woodlands series book 5 in May, In the City series book 4 in July, Hitman series book 5 in August, and Gridiron series book 3 in November

Christina Lauren

Wicked Sexy Liar Release Date: February 2

The fourth book in the Wild Seasons series is all about London and Luke. Those that have read the preceding books in the series know exactly what is coming with these two. London is totally game for Luke’s player ways, as she isn’t exactly looking for anything serious. Luke’s bachelor world is shaken when London makes him want more than just the life adrift that he’s been living. Things are bound to come off track a little, though, when London becomes aware of exactly who is a part of Luke’s past. Things are about to get a little complicated.

Other 2016 releases from Christina Lauren: Beautiful Boss on February 29.

Molly McAdams

To the Stars Release Date: February 9

The first book in the Thatch series, Letting Go was released more than a year ago, back in November 2014. It’s a tragic, yet heartwarming tale that you definitely shouldn’t miss. Those that have been anxiously awaiting the second book, you’re finally in the home stretch. To the Stars, Thatch series book two is all about Knox Alexander and the one who got away, Harlow Evans. This bit from the official summary says it all: “He promised to wait for her. She told him he was wasting his time. Not waiting for him ended up being the biggest mistake of her life.”

Alice Clayton

Cream of the Crop Release Date: July 12

If you missed the first book in Alice Clayton’s Hudson Valley series, Nuts, we highly suggest you check it out. In Cream, Natalie Grayson loves going to visit the farmer’s market in Union Square on Saturdays so she can check out the yummy cheese, and the even yummier cheesemaker, Oscar Mendoza. We met both of these lovely individuals in Nuts, and sparks definitely started to fly. We can’t wait to see what happens next between the creamery owner and the successful advertising executive.

Other 2016 releases from Alice Clayton: Roman Crazy on September 13

Jay Crownover

Charged Release Date: May 24

First of all, if you haven’t yet read Built, the first book in the Saints of Denver series, you should do that. We got a chance to review it, and it’s a really beautiful story. The second book, Charged is all about Avett and Quaid. Avett was first introduced back in the Marked Men series, and is definitely a troubled soul. With her pink hair and long list of troubled boys in her past, she is definitely not Quaid’s type. When he steps in to help her out with some legal trouble, the two find themselves inexplicably drawn toward each other. There’s only one way this could possibly end.

Other 2016 releases from Jay Crownover: Honor in October 2016
