Containment will come to an end after the first season, but you’ll be able to catch two of its stars on Julie Plec’s other CW dramas.
Kristen Gutoskie is currently playing Katie Frank on Julie Plec’s Containment. Katie is a sweet, single mother who remains strong in the face of extreme adversity, and it looks like Gutoskie will be taking on a similar role in the eighth season of The Vampire Diaries.
Deadline reports that she will take on the role of Seline, who is a “warm, nurturing nanny of two young kids by day, and a small-town girl trying to find her place in a dangerous world by night.”
The report states that Seline will “fight desperately to protect the ones she loves,” so she’ll either fit right in with the Mystic Falls gang, or be a worthy adversary for them. She could potentially be someone that Caroline and Alaric befriend in Dallas, or someone they meet during their quest to save Damon and Enzo from themselves.
Meanwhile, Christina Moses fiercely portrays Jana Mayfield on Containment. Jana is an extremely intelligent and badass woman trying to get her loved ones through the urban quarantine. Moses will join The Originals season 4 as Keelin, who will be a “smart, strong resourceful ER doctor.” The character already sounds similar to Jana, so it will be great to see Moses continue to play that type of character.
Deadline also reports that Keelin is the “last living werewolf of her line,” and that she is “openly bisexual, warm and unguarded by nature.” We can’t wait to see what her character has to offer, and what will happen when she meets the Mikaelsons on The Originals.
It is obvious that Julie Plec likes to work with the same people on her various projects, so these women may not be the last Containment additions to The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, now that the series is ending. Chris Wood has already had roles on both Containment and The Vampire Diaries, and a lot of fans would love for him to come back to reprise his role of Kai Parker in Mystic Falls.
