NBC has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for its upcoming Hellblazer adaption, Constantine, as well as a wealth of stills from the premiere episode.

All has been quiet over in the Constantine camp recently, but with the October 24 premiere date fast approaching, NBC has given us a much better glimpse at the first episode, “Non Est Asylum.” That glimpse includes a behind-the-scenes featurette, showcasing some new looks at the titular occult detective, but also a little more information about what we should expect from both executive producers, and the man himself, Matt Ryan.

We have to admit, if we hadn’t already been excited about the episode, this featurette would have certainly sealed the deal!

Also released were 26 — yes, you read that correctly — promotional stills from the first episode. These may not be new for those lucky few that got to see the episode at San Diego Comic-Con this year, but it gives us a better idea at the scope and scale for the premiere and beyond, and it is impressive. We have them all here for your viewing pleasure, so feast your eyes!

Phew. Did those images get your hearts pounding with anticipation of the pilot, or was it just us? We get some pretty fantastic looks at all of the characters that will feature in the series — though we know that Lucy Griffiths will be making a sudden departure after the first episode — and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ve yet to see hide-or-hair of Angélica Celaya’s Zed, but we’re sure that she’ll be coming soon.

Hopefully we’ll start to see some more sneak peeks at the series as October 24 creeps up on us, because this was just enough to whet our appetite, and make the wait that little bit less agonising.

Constantine will air on NBC beginning Friday, October 24 at 10 p.m.
