Actress Connie Britton is re-teaming with American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy for his new FX anthology American Crime Story.

The first season of the new series focuses on the high profile O.J. Simpson murder, with Britton playing Faye Resnick, a friend of Nicole Brown Simpson. Faye had a role in O.J.’s murder trial and later appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Here’s Resnick at a recent event:

Fans of American Horror Story were hoping that Britton would make a return for series 5 titled American Horror Story: Hotel (starring Lady Gaga), especially now that Jessica Lange is not returning. But with Britton now juggling Crime and ABC’s Nashville, it seems highly unlikely that she’ll return to the FX anthology (for now).

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson co-stars Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J., AHS alum Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, and John Travolta as Robert Shapiro. The series is expected to premiere later this year.

The cast is getting better and better. We can’t wait to see this series later this year!
