Along with other late night hosts, Conan O’Brien halted production on his show amid coronavirus concerns. However, he now looks to be the first one to bring his show back.

Every other major late-night program — from Stephen Colbert to Jimmy Fallen to James Corden — halted production on their respective late-night shows when it became clear that continuing would put themselves and their staff at risk for contracting or spreading the coronavirus.

Conan O’Brien, the longest-tenured late-night host among the current spread of hosts, was one of the show hosts to make the decision to shut down, but recently announced that he intends to resume production with writers and producers working remotely.

According to Variety, new episodes of Conan O’Brien’s Conan will start to air on TBS starting Monday, March 30.

However, Conan will not require a full crew to congregate in one place, but will instead continue to abide by the CDC recommended guidelines of social distancing. Instead, Conan will be shot remotely on an iPhone, without an audience and with guest interviews filmed via the video chat platform Skype.

According to Jeff Ross, the longtime executive producer of Conan, Conan O’Brien “likes to work. He likes to make stuff – as we all do. We are in the business of making content and this what we do. The idea that we can’t do it is a little frustrating. We have a staff that wants to work, that doesn’t want to not get paid, and you just want to keep the business going.”

“We were making stuff and putting it out and trying to be a distraction, but we just realized – why not just do the show?” Jeff Ross continued. “It will be different, and it may not be pretty, but we’re going to do it.”

“The quality of my work will not go down because technically that’s not possible,” Conan O’Brien joked in a statement.

Conan will return to air on TBS starting Monday, March 30.
