Castle actor and one of the internet’s besties Nathan Fillion will be guest starring in the upcoming season 5 of Community.

One year after visiting the set of Community, Nathan Fillion is returning to Greendale…this time in front of the camera as a guest star.

It’s a match that makes so much sense that we’re surprised it took five seasons to happen. Fillion has earned a legion of dedicated fans through his work as Joss Whedon’s go-to guy in Firefly (and its movie sequel Serenity), Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the web-series Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Meanwhile Community has ridden the enthusiasm of equally passionate fans to five seasons despite disappointing ratings.

Fillion has long professed his love for the show and at this point must have more pictures of himself with the cast of Community than pictures of himself with family members.

On Tuesday Fillion indicated on his Twitter account that he’d be interested in guest starring on Community. Creator and internet hero in his own right, Dan Harmon responded to his tweet less than an hour later.

Just in case a twitter reply wasn’t official enough Deadline confirmed that the deal is done and Fillion will be portraying Bob Waite, the politically savvy head custodian of Greendale who will cross paths with Annie Professor Hickey (played by Breaking Bad‘s Jonathan Banks).
