Community creator Dan Harmon has said that a resurrection of the now-canceled show is unlikely.

Six seasons and a… *collapses into ugly sobbing*.

Community creator/fandom wizard Dan Harmon has revealed in a blog post that he is unenthused by the idea of resurrecting the show, which was canceled this past Friday by NBC.

Harmon posted to his Tumblr:

I will confess, however, that when Sony called me on Friday with the news, there was brief discussion at the end of the call about the concept of the show living elsewhere, and I was definitely in the “eh” column. For a million reasons, some selfish, some creative, one logistic, five sexual, three racist (in a good way) and, oddly, nine isometric. I won’t bore you with them. I mean, of course I will bore you with them. Boring you is my job, my hobby and my passion. But it doesn’t matter right now WHY I’d be lukewarm or if my reasons would be valid, what matters is, I won’t be lukewarm. I’ll heat up. I said “eh” on a Friday afternoon, I will change it to a “sure, let’s talk” on Monday morning and Sony can do their thing. I’m not going to be the guy that recancels cancelled Community.

Many fans dreamed of #Sixseasonsandamovie and the producers and cast have been excellent at supporting that goal but now that it’s officially over it looks like many involved just want to move on.

Donald Glover and Chevy Chase have already done so. Joel McHale is hosting White House Correspondence Dinners. Allison Brie is starring in Smirnoff commercials. Jim Rash is writing Oscar winning screenplays. And Harmon’s new show, Rick and Morty, has found incredible, unexpected success on Adult Swim.

There is still one more season of Community and one more movie floating out there in the pop cultural ether. And years from now the crew may reunite to give it a shot but for the time being it looks like this is the last we’ve seen of the show.
