Community’s Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jim Rash all drop hints about the Rash-penned “Freaky Friday” homage at this year’s PaleyFest. You won’t need many hints to guess which two characters will be switching bodies.

The Community cast and crew’s announcement of a “puppet episode” understandably got the lion’s share of headlines at this year’s PaleyFest, but once the cast hit the interview circuit, they began to drop hints about another high-concept episode: a Freaky Friday parody.

The episode was written by Jim Rash because really, you’ve got to let the Oscar-winning screenwriter take at least one crack at writing an episode…especially if he’s dutifully worn outlandish dresses for two and a half seasons. Troy and Abed will naturally be the two characters switching bodies. They’ve already been sewn together so a simple body switch should be a walk in the park.

Check out their comments below:

Rash, for what it’s worth, seems really interested in getting the mechanics of a body switch just right, citing the original 1976 film’s seemingly random switch as an inspiration. He also acknowledges that there will be a “deeper reason” for the switch.

Danny Pudi reveals that he prepared for an episode full of Troy Barnes impersonation by simply listening to a recording of Donald Glover’s voice on his iPhone. Simple, yet effective. It looks like he’s got the walk down pat already – arms relaxed, feet angled and all confidence.

Joel McHale and Gillian Jacob say that the duo’s performance warrants their own special Community Emmys. We’re sure that if the cast wanted to, they could sell tickets to an all-Community Emmys’ ceremony and sell out within minutes.
