Eddie Murphy is back as Prince Akeem in the first trailer for Coming 2 America— watch it below!

It’s been over three decades since Eddie Murphy first set foot in Queens, New York as Prince Akeem, but Coming to America fans will get to see the comedic actor reprise one of his most iconic roles.

In the film’s long-awaited sequel, Prince Akeem will once again find himself traveling to the Big Apple— this time, on a very different mission.

As fans familiar with the original 1988 comedy will likely remember, Prince Akeem’s first trip to the states revolved around the royal’s mission to find a suitable wife. This time around, he’ll be returning to track down the son he’s never known.

As the first trailer for Coming 2 America sets up, the prince’s father (James Earl Jones) is the one who urges Akeem to track down his son.

“Before I am gone, Akeem, it appears you have a son— he must be found,” urges the prince’s father.
