Each year Comic-Con in San Diego branches out more from its comic book roots. This year, you can find everything from outer-space to fairy tales.

Today the Hypable staff took a walk around downtown San Diego and caught different production companies putting up everything from interactive fan experiences to skinning out the sides of buildings with their logos. It’s marketing madness as each studio tries to outdo each other.

‘Game of Thrones’

What better way to get into the fantasy Comic-Con mood than to get off your trolley and imagine yourself in the city of the Khal Drogo and the Dothraki.

Batman

Maybe Christopher Nolan is done with he franchise but Batman, Robin, and The Joker live on as in Lego creations.

‘The Hobbit’

Not to be outdone by the Batman franchise, The Hobbit has all of Biblo’s hut done in Legos, and there are no less than half a dozen scaled to actual size (mentioned in the novel) hobbits inhabiting it. Judging by the line of people taking photos, Richard Armitage’s Lego form might be more popular than he is.

‘Ender’s Game’

The folks at Summit/Lionsgate have an entire fan experience being built. Maybe fans can battle the Buggers, or maybe even be weightless?

Spider-man

Spider-man is crawling up the side of the Hard Rock Hotel. They have a major presentation planned in Hall H on Friday.

‘Once Upon a Time’

In the battle of my building-takeover is cooler than your building-takeover the clear winner is the Once Upon A Time franchise. The have wrapped not one but two sides of Petco Park with their imagery.

There are ten Hypable staffers ready to bring you all the action from the next four days at Comic-Con. This is just a little of what is in store.

What franchise do you want to know the most about?
