Sure, characters get written out of episodes in order to feature others. But, what about Rory, Sugar and Beiste who have completely vanished from the halls of McKinley High School!?

If you’ve been watching Glee in the last couple of episodes you might have noticed something is a bit off. Could it be that Rory Flanagan (Damian McGinty), Sugar Motta (Vanessa Lengies) and Coach Beiste (Dot Marie Jones) have all vanished from the show!?

Okay, yes, all three are only considered guest stars. Coach Beiste, of course, hasn’t been in every episode this season and isn’t necessarily needed, either. But when two members of New Directions are just completely absent without any mention as to why, it should raise some questions right?

Often times Rory and Sugar have very minimal parts – I’m talking literally two words in an episode. But even when they aren’t needed for the story they appear in the background as part of the group.

Some people were wondering where Quinn was in the disco episode last week as well, noting that she only appeared in a couple of the group scenes and was completely left out of “Stayin’ Alive.”

But here we are, three weeks into Glee‘s return, and as far as we know Rory could have been deported like he mentioned in 3×14 and Sugar could have…well Sugar could have wandered off into the woods, let’s be honest.

A quick look at their IMDB episode credits shows that both Rory and Sugar last appeared in 3×15 “Big Brother,” and are apparently both set to re-appear in Tuesday’s episode 3×18 “Choke.” Even worse, Beiste hasn’t appeared on the show since 3×14 “On My Way” way back in February! Will anyone acknowledge that they’ve been missing when they finally do return?

What are your thoughts? Do you think the writers just wrote them out to make room for others or do you think it was a calculated move and Rory and Sugar are skipping school together!? Does it bother you that they’ve been put off to the side? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
